ABOUT ME
I am a retired Presbyterian Church (USA) pastor with more than 25 years of experience coaching pastors and consulting with congregations in seasons of transition, growth, or challenge. My work focuses on helping both clergy and churches gain clarity, navigate change, and move forward with renewed purpose.
I hold degrees from the University of Washington in Speech Communications and Education, from Union Theological Seminary in Virginia (Now Union Presbyterian Seminary), where I completed my Doctor of Ministry. While serving in Boston Presbytery, I was a field supervisor for students from Harvard Divinity School, supporting their development as ministry leaders.
Midway through my career, after 15 years in parish ministry, I expanded my training through the Pastoral Counseling Program at the Lloyd Center, San Francisco Theological Seminary, completing a two-year postgraduate program in pastoral psychotherapy. This work deepened my ability to support pastors, church staff, and lay leaders as they navigate complex personal or congregational dynamics.
Over the years, I have served congregations of 100 to 750 as an associate pastor, solo pastor, interim pastor, and head of staff. I bring training and experience in conflict management, church administration, organizational leadership, interim ministry, and pastoral psychotherapy.
For those who appreciate personality frameworks: I am an INTJ; my CliftonStrengths are Input, Ideation, Deliberative, Belief, and Connectedness; and on the Enneagram, I’m an Eight (The Challenger)—all of which shape my coaching style, blending insight, strategy, curiosity, and care.
